There is nothing more motivating to hit the gym then cute workout clothes. And most of the time… I need the extra motivation! I use to hit the gym 4-5 times a week back in college and the first couple years after. Now a days, I have had some setbacks with back injuries, neck injuries, knee problems, you name it! I know I am not the only one with body aging issues (yikes!), so I thought I would share my favorite, easy on the body, workouts that keep me in the gym and injury free!
I am a lover of workout classes. I absolutely love the hands-on approach and structure of classes and prefer this to going to a regular gym any day. However, paying for a membership to a studio for only one type of workout can break the bank with memberships typically between $90-$200! Umm… no thanks. So when I heard about ClassPass a few years back, I knew this was the perfect option for me.
If you have not heard about ClassPass, it is a monthly membership to every type of workout class you can imagine. They offer classes to studios all over your city including yoga, pilates, strength training, cycling, rowing, dance, boxing, TRX and total body. My favorites classes are the Hot Yoga classes offered by YogaSix. Hot yoga sounds intimidating, but I encourage you to try it if you never have! You leave the class on an ultimate workout high with your skin feeling amazing and I also get my best nights sleep on days when I take the classes. The benefits are amazing. Another favorite is the treadmill workouts provided by Burn1000, Nutriformance, and Sweat St. Louis. This class is strength training and treadmill work, all in one hour and will kick your butt. This was great for getting in shape for my wedding!
Another thing I love about ClassPass is that I can still workout and take classes even when I am out of town for work or vacation. They have studios all across the US in their program and I can’t tell you how nice it is to simply sign up for a class on their app and just pop in without any extra hassle. Currently, I am paying $45 for 5 classes a month. I just changed recently to this plan over their unlimited because I have been so busy lately. The unlimited plan is $90 a month in St. Louis (may differ in other cities) and allows you to visit any studio in the network and the same studio up to 4x a month. If you love workout classes I encourage you to give ClassPass a try!
Now to this cute workout gear. I am in LOVE with these pants. Typically I am a Lululemon or Zella yoga pants girl, but I have Athleta a try recently and now I am a die hard fan. The fabric of these pants are incredibly comfortable and are perfect for my hot yoga classes or running on the treadmill. I love this fun striped print as well. They come in at $65, way cheaper than Lululemon and just about the same as Zella from nordstrom. My favorite workout top that I have is this racerback tank from Lululemon. I have a small collection of these tops because they fit and wash so well. I have had one of these tops for five years now and it still looks brand new! Also, if you love my monogrammed workout mat, you can find it at Marley Lilly for only $35! They also have lots of other fun colors to choose from and so many font options as well.
