Every year Pantone announces the Color of the Year and it typically sets off upcoming trends in home decor, fashion and design. For the first time ever, there are two selections for Color of the Year! This big deal for retailers that watch the event closely to reveal their own products in the colors. The two pastel hues were chosen for their tranquility and gender duality, representing cultural changes within our world. Being a pink lover, the rosy warm color of Rose Quartz is my clear winner. However, the soothing and calming affect of Serenity is wonderfully contagious. Both pastels are gorgeous on their own and yet, when you put them together they are perfectly complimentary.
For this look, I styled Rose Quartz for a transitional Spring outfit. I say transitional because living in the Midwest during the Spring… the weather is always unpredictable and it varies drastically from morning to night. The mornings I need to be bundled, but by the time lunch comes around I’v either shed my jacket, cardigan, or sweater and i’m thankful for the layer underneath. I also love the versatility of these three pieces because they can be styled in so many different ways and work for almost every season of the year. Because who says you can’t wear white jeans after Labor Day?
