This past weekend, Paul and I ventured out to Breckenridge, Colorado for a long weekend ski trip. My family has been skiing ever since I was five years old, and it was so fun to get on the slopes with some old friends and lots of new friends as well. My good buds, Anna and Patrick are from New York and they set up the entire trip. Thanks Pat and Anna! Our crew stayed in a VRBO house right on the mountain and included people from Croatia, France, London, and Spain. It was absolutely one of the best ski trips I have ever been on! excuse the puffy face, there was lots of drinking and socializing this trip… 🙂
Like I mentioned, this was not my first ski trip. Out of our group of 14, six people, myself included, did not need ski lessons the first day so we ventured to the bowls. After getting our
sea ski-legs, we decided the black bowls were not cutting it, so a 20 minute hike up the mountain is what we needed. This was not my idea. I like to think I am in fair shape, but hiking up one of the tallest ski mountains in the US with very little oxygen supply was not what I was expecting when I woke up that morning. Paul talked me into it and up we went. It was absolutely brutal. The hardest work-out I have done in years, but damn, the skiing was unbelievable. Terrifying, but I would do it all over again if given the chance. and for THAT view!
If you get the opportunity to visit Breckenridge, GO! This town is so cute and it has some of the best skiing in the US (in my opinion.) The town is just adorable with lots of great restaurants, bars, and even great shopping! Yah, for me! Paul was feeling generous and decided to take a half-day with me to go to the town for a little shopping. He NEVER wants to go shopping, so I was pretty ecstatic when he agreed to take some time away from the slopes. More pictures to come of the town and what I wore shopping and for dinner.
My shopping agenda was to go home with some much needed snow-boots and that I did! These Sorel Joan of Arctic boots have been in my Nordstrom cart this entire season, and I finally took the plunge when I saw them at a local shop and tried them on. They are incredibly warm and cozy and feel like you are wearing a pair of slippers! Yes, please. I linked lots of different color options in this boot, but my favorite is the hunter green Nori color. Happy Shopping!
