Carrie and Stacy from CS Gems approached myself, Jenna from Sincerely Jenna Marie and Caryl from More Pieces of Me to style NYE looks for a this holiday shoot! We had so much shooting in front of this Christmas Tree and other holiday decorations in downtown Clayton. Be sure to visit CS Gems’ post featuring our NYE looks and style tips on their blog here. Also make sure to visit Caryl’s and Jenna’s blogs to get more details on their looks!

New Year’s Eve is my absolute favorite holiday. First, because you can wear as many sequins as you like without judgement. Second, I love to dance. But most importantly, because it is our Wedding Anniversary!

This year is our first anniversary and I think it’s going to be really hard to top last year’s outfit. I was glittering head to toe in crystals and tulle. 🙂 (Post to come on that-12/31.)  New Year’s Eve is all about the glitz and glamour, so try something you would typically not doing during an average night out. Sequins,  bright colors, statement jewelry, interesting textiles and lush materials like velvet, fur and leather are all great options that will make you stand out.

Another NYE Tip… make sure to avoid the brand new heels you just got for Christmas. I know from experience those tend to hurt after an hour of dancing! Although, if you have to wear them… Band-Aid Active Friction Block Stick is your best friend. It also doesn’t hurt to wear them around the house to break them in. When it comes to choosing your NYE outfit, the most important thing is that you have fun in what you wear and feel confident the entire evening! And life is too short to wear boring clothes, so get a little glam.

This is the first of four style posts with local Jewelry online boutique, CS Gems. You have seen CS Gems on my blog before here, here, and here. They are so much fun to work with and their jewelry is all vintage and one of a kind. They also carry scarfs and some clothing pieces! Love this blanket scarf and this gorgeous black and cream printed cardigan.

I additionally worked with new a boutique here in St. Louis, La Ville. They are located in Ellisville next to the Lucky’s Market off of Clarkson and Clayton Road. This is one of my favorite boutiques in St. Louis! They carry all my favorite designers including Parker, StyleStalker, BCBG Generation, Tart, and The Jetset Diaries. They even carry special occasion gowns from designers like Shoshanna and they can special order any dress in your size! Any who… I love this new boutique and there will be much more to come on the blog about La Ville! Look for the post on Monday, it’s featuring my favorite look from the photo shoot with CS Gems and it is perfect for the Holidays.

Hope you enjoyed this post and are close to finishing up your holiday shopping! Be sure to checkout my holiday picks here.

Cheers! -Jenna
